Terms of Use
These terms apply to your use of P2Pboard (p2pboard.net), run by Okky Dj (“we”, “us”). By using P2Pboard you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
1. The service
P2Pboard is a free whiteboard that two people can share directly between their devices, with an optional voice call between them that starts only when both agree. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time, without notice.
2. Your content
- Everything you draw or import stays yours. We don't receive it and claim no rights to it.
- You are responsible for what you put on the board. Only import images and PDFs you have the right to use, and respect copyright, for example on textbooks and exam papers.
- Anything on a shared board is visible to the other person, who can save or export it. Only connect with people you trust.
3. Prohibited use and abusive behaviour
You must not use P2Pboard to:
- share content that is illegal, sexually exploits or endangers children, is pornographic, or promotes violence, terrorism or hatred;
- harass, bully, threaten, stalk, impersonate or deceive anyone, or connect with someone who has not agreed to connect with you;
- infringe copyright, trademarks, privacy or other rights of others;
- record a voice call, or the board, without the other person's consent;
- share malware, phishing links, spam or scams;
- overload, attack, probe, scan or reverse-engineer the connection service, get around its limits (for example by automated or repeated requests, or by guessing other people's codes), or use it for anything other than connecting two P2Pboard users;
- break any law that applies to you.
Because board content goes directly between devices and never reaches us, we cannot see or moderate it. If someone behaves abusively towards you, disconnect, don't share a new code with them, and report serious matters to the police or the relevant authority. You can also tell us at the address below.
4. Our right to restrict access
To protect the service and its users, we may at any time, without notice and at our discretion:
- limit how often a device or network can create or join sessions;
- block IP addresses, network ranges or regions from the connection service, temporarily or permanently;
- cancel active connection codes;
- suspend the connection service or the relay entirely.
We do this when we believe someone has broken these terms, to stop attacks or overuse, to keep within our providers' limits, or where the law requires it. The manual (copy & paste) connection may still work when quick connect is restricted, but you must not use it to get around a restriction placed on you.
5. Peer-to-peer: limitations and risks
P2Pboard connects devices directly. This has benefits, but also limits you should know:
- Your IP address is shared with the other person's device. The connection details both devices exchange contain IP addresses, which can reveal your approximate location and internet provider.
- Connections may not work on every network. Some school, office, hotel or mobile networks, firewalls and VPNs block or degrade peer-to-peer traffic. We try to work around this with a relay, but we can't guarantee a connection.
- Only two people can share a board, and if the connection drops you need to reconnect by hand.
- Speed and call quality depend on both people's networks and devices, not on us.
- We can't control the other device. The other person, their browser, or software on their device can copy, record or keep anything you share, including what you say in a voice call.
- Merging boards can't be undone. When you accept a merge, both boards combine on both devices.
6. Service interruptions and data loss
- P2Pboard depends on outside providers (Cloudflare and others) and on free usage limits. It may be slow, unavailable or interrupted at any time, for example during outages, maintenance, attacks, or when limits are reached, and may be discontinued.
- Your board is stored only in your own browser. It can be lost if you clear your browser data, use private browsing, change device or browser, run out of storage, or if the browser removes stored data on its own. Updates to P2Pboard could also, in rare cases, affect saved boards.
- We have no copy of your board and cannot recover it. Use Export to PDF regularly to keep anything important.
7. Copyright complaints
We respect copyright and expect users to do the same. We do not host, store or see board content, so we cannot remove anything from a user's device. But if P2Pboard is being used to infringe your rights, tell us and we will look into it. We handle notices under Indonesia's Copyright Law (Law No. 28 of 2014) and also accept notices in the form used under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
Send your notice to [email protected], including:
- your name and contact details;
- the work you believe is being infringed;
- how and where P2Pboard is being used to infringe it, with any details that help us identify the activity (for example dates, times and connection codes);
- a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner, or are authorised to act for the owner; and
- your physical or electronic signature.
How we respond: we review each valid notice and, where appropriate, restrict access to the service for the people involved (section 4), especially repeat infringers. We may ask for more information, and we may share the notice with the person concerned. If you believe access was restricted because of a mistake or misidentification, you can contact us with an explanation and we will review it. Knowingly sending a false notice may make you legally liable.
8. Students and minors
If you are below the age at which you can agree to these terms where you live, use P2Pboard only with the permission of a parent, guardian or teacher.
9. Donations
P2Pboard is free. We may offer a way to support it through a third-party donation platform (such as Trakteer). If we do:
- Donations are voluntary gifts, not payment for the service. They do not buy any features, priority, support, or influence over P2Pboard, and everyone gets the same service whether they donate or not.
- Payments are handled by the donation platform under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Donations are non-refundable, except where the law or the platform's own refund policy requires otherwise. If you donated by mistake, contact us and we will try to help through the platform.
- We are not a charity, so donations are usually not tax-deductible. Donations help cover running costs and further development.
- We may stop accepting donations at any time. Messages sent with a donation must follow section 3, and we may hide any that don't.
10. No warranty
P2Pboard is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, availability, or that it will be error-free or keep your data safe.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, lessons, income or opportunity, arising from your use of, or inability to use, P2Pboard, or from the conduct of anyone you connect with. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Privacy
How information is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.
13. Open-source software
P2Pboard is built with open-source software, used under its licenses. See the open-source licenses.
14. Ownership
The P2Pboard name, design and software (other than the open-source parts) are © 2026 Okky Dj. You may use the website as described here, but may not copy or redistribute the application itself.
15. International use and governing law
- P2Pboard can be used from anywhere, but we don't promise it is suitable or lawful in every country. If you use it from outside Indonesia, you are responsible for following your local laws.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, and disputes will be handled by the courts of Indonesia.
- However, if you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live (for example EU, UK or Australian consumer law), and you may be able to bring a claim in your local courts. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have by law.
- If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If these terms are translated, the English version applies in case of any difference.
16. Changes
We may update these terms. The new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date, and applies from then on.
